HOW TO REMOVE A WINDSURFING BATTEN TO REPLACE WITH SPARE OR REPAIR
Monty Spindler demonstrates and gives advice on how to remove and replace a broken or snapped windsurfing sail batten using the adjustable-screw batten tensioner system.
Care should be taken removing snapped battens from the pocket as any sharp shards of glass fiber or similar material can puncture the fabric.
(Breakages are less likely with Loftsails products due to superior batten specification.)
Batten length and taper must be calculated carefully to ensure the sail functions as per the design of the original.
If in any doubt always go to a professional sail repairer that has experience with the sail brand and stock of the right materials and parts.
