WELCOME DIONY GUADAGNINO
LOFTSAILS WELCOME DIONY GUADAGNINO
Loftsails are pleased to announce that Venezuelan talent Diony Guadagnino will join their international team for 2016.
Raised in Margarita, Guadagnino is a radical all-round rider that brings significant experience to the Loftsails development program.
TRUE WATERMAN
One of the orginal new skool freestyle sensations, Guadagnino is a regular at JAWS, an accomplished PWA Slalom and long-distance racer and at the forefront of the growing foiling scene.
In 2016 Diony expects to compete on the PWA wave and racing series, enter some American Windsurfing Tour (AWT) events, to seek out exciting new big-wave travel locations, build on his strong reputation for endurance racing at Le Defi Wind and continue his good work spreading the joy of windsurfing to kids in his regular camps in France and South America.
Speaking from his mid-winter training spot in Los Roques – a secluded wavesailing paradise in the southern Caribbean sea – Guadagnino said ‘I’m proud to announce that I’ve joined the Loftsails family and am feeling super amped and thankful to be working with such an amazing team and the famous sail designer Monty Spindler!
‘The sail – and especially the slalom – program looks amazing. I’m so looking forward working together with Monty! To me it’s a great honor! He is probably the most experienced sail designer in the sport and we share a lot of views on the best direction for where windsurfing needs to go.
‘I plan to use the Purelip 5-batten wave sail in the surf because I like to have some power, the Racing Blade of course for slalom and the Airscape for foiling and freestyle!
‘Entering the 2015 Aloha Classic reignited my competitive thirst so I’m frothing to get back on the competition scene and show what I can do!’
‘My goals are to just be prepared for what ever comes my way! Do my very best and have fun!’
KEY MOMENT FOR MONTY
Loftsails founder and designer Monty Spindler was particularly excited about signing Guadagnino.
‘I’ve watched Diony’s progress since he was an up-and-coming star on the freestyle circuit, winning the ‘King of the Lake’ Young Gun contest on Lake Garda as his generation marked a step forward for the sport.
‘I’m looking forward to working with him because, since then, he’s gained so much experience in nearly all disciplines of windsurfing.
‘I’m particularly keen for him to join myself and my Core R&D Team here in Tarifa, working together to advance Loftsails 2017 development program.
‘Diony’s experience brings valuable expertise in freestyle, slalom and the highest level of wave performance to the brand – plus he’s also passionate about teaching newcomers and kids – and is highly knowledgeable about the fun new world of foiling.
‘Loftsails now has an extremely experienced, diversified rider to assist in moving Loftsails designs forward – welcome aboard Diony!’
